Automatic to Manual Hatch Problems

I bought this car awhile ago and realized that the previous owner got rid of the automatic hatch motor and welded in a manual one and ran a manual wire to the key. It works great but the problem is that when the guy did it he unplugged all the wires in the back including the wires for the Light and the 3rd brake light.. i plugged them back in and they don't work.. none of the wires are spliced so im wondering what i should do to get those both too work again??i thought of maybe splicing into one of the brake lights to run the third brake light. Would this work?

Re: Automatic to Manual Hatch Problems

you should be able to get a new hatch motor unit and connect it to the relay if its still in there, and just hook up all the wires again, but i am not sure cause my third brake light isnt on the spoiler
