does anybody know why no matter where I put the lever on my heat/ac control it comes out the defrost. Has anybody had this problem? The temp control works but I can't get the air to go anywhere but the defrost. I need help on this one. Thanks

 

You might have a problem inthe vacuum distribution system. Either the controls or the vacuum diaphragms. Do you hear any hissing from inside the dash?

I put my ear to it this evening and I dont hear any hissing. I pulled the whole unit out of the dash. The lever still makes the thing rotate from point to point(that little round thing with all the vaccum lines comin out of it). But I still only have defrost. I even unhooked all the lines just to see what it would do, and still only have defrost.

 

I'd check if you have any vacuum in the lines at all. You might have a broken line in the engine compartment, not allowing any vacuum to enter under the dash.
