timing help needed

i am still looking through the threads, but i hope someone can help me b/c i am on a time crunch. my car goes in the body shop friday. my buddy is comming over with his timing light thursday. yes my car is out of timing. it sputters in the uper rpms.

i do have a new quaddrajet on it,and it is pretty dialed in. so. now for the dumb ?. is it on the dist? if so which one is it. or is by the heater? or is it both.

its an 84 t/a cc carb.(obviously). what wire do i disconnect to set and advance the timming.

i found a write-up on autozone that says to disconnect it from the dist and its a 4 wire connector. then i read somewhere on here not to do that. and that it is the brown and black wire with a weather pack by the blower unit. now i'm cornfused.

please help me guys. its driveable but it doesn't run like it should.

i think fact. is 6* btc so how much more can i put in her. or is it play as u go.
