car will not start, need some help...
Here's the story...
In 05 I had the stock 305 TPI/700 R4 removed from my 1991 Camaro Z28. I had a 406 SBC carbed/TH400 replaced with it. With the motor/tranny swap there was some factory wiring removed.
The problem...
Everything worked flawlessy with no problems for 3 years. Then the motor mixed coolant and oil. I pulled the motor out and replaced it with my other SBC. Went into the car and removed the factory A/C, heater core and the box assembly. Then I dropped the motor in, plugged in the oil pressure sensor, and the sensor for the alternator, both grounds that go on the back of the cylinder heads etc.
The car gets power, all the lights work, blinkers, radio, door chims, windows, fuel pump.
When you go to the crank position nothing happens...
I have a purple wire that connects to the IGN side of the starter, I have the black cable that comes off the + side of the battery post, a orange wire, and two orange wires that share the same connector that go on the Battery side of the starter. The starter I have is a High torque mini starter.
Everything is getting power but that purple wire and the rear hatch switch. Im mostly confused as how the car ran before, nothing was changed but the A/C and heat was removed, now it wont start.
The car does have an a Older Viper alarm, NO remote start just lock, unlock and the rear hatch valet. I am thinking this is the problem and it is killing power to the ignition system on purpose??
When you use the remote for the alarm, the hatch opens like it should, but not with the switch inside. The alarm did work earlier today. Then I held the button in trying to reset it (not knowing just trying to see if it worked) and the alram wont chirp anymore. Only the lights flash. The light instead of blinking is now on solid.
Thanks for any help.
Thanks...

Re: car will not start, need some help...
So long as you have everything hooked up right, and if I am reading this correctly.
They only thing you need is power to the starter solenoid.
Start by checking your fuses.
If they are good, check your to make sure that wire does or dose not have a fuseable link. If so make sure it's good.
From their you will want to start tracing the connections back to the ignition switch.
Sounds to me like it is either a fuse, fusable link, or ignition switch.
Does your security light stay on?
Could be the chip in the key too.

There was a recent thread on a no-start issue where I suggested how to diagnose it .... do a search (for my username too) and you should find it there.
The starter circuit is one of the simplest circuits to troubleshoot.

I fixed it!
I checked all the fuses, fusible links etc.
When I had the inside of the center console removed I dis connected the Nuetral safety switch and forgot to re connect it. I guess working 36 hours straight to get the trans and motor in doesnt help.
