Ok heres what i got 89 Firebird formula automatic. The hatch button used to work just fine, then the car sat for almost a year, bring it back out and now i got nothing BUT when i hit the hatch release button the brake warning light turns on? You can hear the switch workin but it dosent make it to the back. Worst case senario, is there anyway to get the hatch open manually, not using the lock cylinder (dont have a key for it)

 

Set your e brake and then hit the button.

That should do it. The hatch release relay grounds through the e-brake.
