Can someone explain why, you would solder a resistor on a VATS
Re: Can someone explain why, you would solder a resistor on a VATS
I've been researching this whole VATS thing and I am so confused at this point.
I have a 90 RS that decide not to crank over one morning.
Determined starter was good by jumping the terminals on the starter.
Found the Starter Enable Relay and jumped the wires to get it to crank.
THen I discover that the key is missing the pellet!!
So I buy a VATS Bypass module from Baker Electronix.
It says to find the blue wire going to the ECM and talks about circuit 229.
I pull the ECM down from under the passenger side and cannot figure out what I'm looking at. I'm supposed to find a terminal B6? wtf? There are 3 different plugins on the ECM and several dark blue wires so I don't know what to do.
Also- question-
Even if the pellet is gone, should the car still crank over? So is it possible that I have 2 problems like a bad Starter Enable Relay and I need the Vats bypass? Or will the VAts bypass enable the starter too?
Thanks guys - I am so frustrated and mad right now. Thanks to the A-hole that invented this jewel of a system.
