I keep on blowing fuses HELP!!

Well as you all know, you need to pull the light lever towards you to turn the interior and exterior lights on in the camaro. Well i am restoring my camaro, and i pulled out all the interior and exterior lights to paint it. But yesterday i turned on the lights so that i could illuminate my gauges, to pull my car in, and the lights quickly went on then went off.

Turns out it was a bad fuse, so i put a new fuse in and the same thing happened, so there is most likely a short somewhere. Do any of you know where it could be or what my problem is. I was thinking maybe one of the times i washed the car, water got into the headlight connector, Please helpp!!!

Re: I keep on blowing fuses HELP!!

if it all worked fine before you messed with your lights, check and recheck those areas.

i just recently installed a new pioneer cd player. i ended up not using a few wires and left them danging behind with nothing covering the exposed copper.

...two days later i kept blowing fuses until i pulled the cd player back out and saw my mistake. taped up my unused wires, good as new.

oh, don't write off an easy fix. i ended up replacing my headlight switch because i thought i was too good to make a silly mistake.

Ya i just put in a new kenwood cd player and now that i think about it, i did start blowing fuses right around that time, so i am going to take my dc player out and look for unused wires, but you said you taped the wires? what did you tape them to?

Re: I keep on blowing fuses HELP!!

hence the reason you can buy a camaro/firebird wiring harness for your stereo off hifisoundconnection.com for about 5 bux. solder the one you get with the deck and the OEM plug in one and violla! no wire fires or hack-n-slash stereo jobs

Just tape up the ends of the wire to make sure they dont make contact with anything, this is waay more common than i had hoped, i just had a bit more faith in people but half the time i go into a fuse blowing car the owner left exposed wires, sometimes i feel bad for charging them but good will doesnt pay the bills i guess

hope it works out, id trace over your lights too, may take an hour but atleast youll know whats going on lol
