i installed an auto meter 5" sport comp tachometer in my camaro, part # atm-390 i believe from summitracing. i want the tach to illuminate when i turn on my headlights, just like the rest of my gauges do. so i wired it into the fuse box slot labeled "inst lps" and it does not illuminate at all. so i hard wired it to "ign" and it also did not light up.


what can i do????

there should be a gray wire coming from the inst lmps fuse, this is what you want to power it from, but if that doesnt work, then something else is wrong, especially if you wired it straight into the ignition switch. check the bulb and check your wiring.

 

also check your ground
