So good to be back on here after not having a 3rd gen in the family for too long. My 15 yr old son bought a 91RS(LO3,TBI) after a friend went thru 3 alts and a couple batteries and then gave up. Told my boy this site was the place to go and after alot of reading and some training with a multimeter we found the red wire that plugs into the alt had come apart at the link by the starter solenoid and was causing the charging problems. Took it off the solenoid and ran it to the lug on the alt and he`s driving it to school tomorrow for the first time. sorry so long but thanks all and I`ll be on alot to learn and help when I can.
