ecm wiring 1990 8d

this is concerning wiring up a dakota digital vss box.

helm inc page 8A-33-0

I disconnected wires B10 and B9 from the ecm, they are the vss wires and plugged them directly into the dakota box.

Now heres where im wondering if i messed up, i also disconnected B11 from the ecm which is a grey wire that goes to the cluster and is for vehicle speed input.

Thing is i have a check engine light (not sure if it was there before, havent touched this car in a while and it didnt have a cluster for a while) and not only can i not get tunerpro to hook up to it through the aldl, it wont even flash me the codes by hot wiring it.

B11 also has C1 underlined beside it by the ecm side (i dont know what the number beside underlined means). C1 is the wire for the cruise and has C2 underlined beside it.

The grounds in the diagram at A12 and D1 have C1 and C2 underligned beside them respectively.

im going to try and connect B11 back in when i get a pin and see what happens, but what is the proper way for me to get the signal to the cluster, do i just splice into that wire or something else?
