4th gen wiring swap
Ok heres what I have to do.I have a 82 trans am that will be converted to ls1 soon.the electric on the 82 is in a bad shape, nothing works since the electric had a fire in the engine bay.so today i tok the harness out and its no hope for using it again.the only thing that seems to be good is the HVAC system.I have a complete salvage 98 firebird formula that will be my donorcar,I will use the engine and the tranny and the rear on it.I also have plans to use the 98 dash since my old in the 82 is cracked. So the best in this swap would be if i could use the complete harness from the 98 mod to my 82 mod.Is this possible to do witout too many problems?
Thanks guys...

Re: 4th gen wiring swap
No...you arent. This question might have gotten more attention over in the conversions forum. There are also a few threads talking about complete wiring floating around.
It can be done. Its not the easiest thing in the world. But if you are using ALL of the wiring and most of the accessories from the LS1 car, you basically have to place the wiring from the LS1 in the thirdgen, and just start making things work one by one. There isnt a simple answer.
Do some more searching, and look up posts from a guy named shroom on here. I think his TA has most if not all of the wiring from an LS1 including dash, headlights/taillights etc.
