my dist. cap shocked the $#!t out of me!!

Car: 2005 Chevy Colorado/ 1985 Z28
Engine: fast burn zz4
Transmission: th350
Axle/Gears: 10 bolt (has to go) 3:23 gears
my dist. cap shocked the $#!t out of me!!

what could cause my dist cap to shock me? i just switched to an accel high performance coil and was adjusting the timing and the screw that holds the coil down shocked the crap out of me... whats the deal? bad ground maybe?

make sure your cap is on tight. also check all the wires. you should be able to put hands all over the cap and not get shocked. if its nighttime, pop the hood, start the engine and look for sparks.

had that happen to me once. it was because one of my plug wires wasnt one the plug all the way so i guess i was less resistance then the plug. so it shocked me pretty good.
