I hope you don't plan on using that for tuning for WOT as you're connecting into a narrowband sensor that will basically tell you nothing other than 14.7:1 AFR or something higher or lower.

well....i dont have a wideband right now. i bought a narrowband A/F gauge back in the day and i wanted to simply hook it up. I plugged the signal wire into port D7 on the ecm and the gauge reads stoich ALL the time.
what did i do wrong?.....should i splice at the o2 instead?
----------
WIDEBAND.....where would i plug that into?

A wideband would require a new O2 sensor, and something to tell you what it's reading. I believe all aftermarket widebands that you would use are 5 wire, not the 1,2,or 3 wire that's probably on your car.

Re: air/fuel ratio gauge SIGNAL WIRE HELP.
Before we go any further, please describe your gauge. Is it a true wideband, or is it a narrowband simulator?
On the stock narrowband, the sensor detects absence or presence of oxygen. It can tell you rich or lean, but not how rich or how lean.
Aftermarket narrowband simulators take the readings and average over time to estimate the actual air/fuel ratio. This type can work off of the stock narrowband sensor.
A true wideband can tell what the ratio is in realtime. This type needs a new wideband sensor.
The kind of gauge you have will determine how you can hook up the sensor signal.

I tapped mine into the wire off the O2 sensor.
