Hi guys, One problem resolved, vats bypassed thanks to the great help from the guys here. Next problem, is the fuel pump; if I'm understanding the wiring schematic found herehttp://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us...rInfoPages.htm
the orange wire should be hot 12v and the tan/wht at the pump should have 12v when the relays are energized? At the pump connection I had 8.75v, so I assume I need to back track to the relays and check voltage. This car has sat a few years so I'm not sure the pump is even any good.
From what I've read the relays are located on the drivers side fire wall (89 iroc) second one in from the drivers fender?

i had no clue autozone had wiring diagrams they detail more than a haynes manual, if id known that i could have saved my 20 bucks.

 

Yeah I ran across that site after searching for some info I was looking for. Although it's good it lacks some of the wires, which makes it a little harder to figure out some things.

bought an 87 lt camero with 305 carburatored. The person who had it before put a new mechanical fuel pump on it and the car runs but while it's running it feels like the fuel line coming from the tank is surging. Is there an electric pump in the tank and it seems like the tank is pressurizing.

 

Depends if the PO removed the stock elec pump from the tank when installing the mech pump

Depends what the PO did with the stock vent lines off the tank , he may have sealed them so the tank has no vent
