87 305, oil guage issues killing battery?
I am not new to the board but, kinda new to mechanics. I have an 87 IROC convertible w/a stock 305 engine/. My oil pressure guage (60) pins the moment the engine starts and stays that way while driving. It does come down at red lights but goes right back up on departure. I have changed the switch which looks like a bell and is on the drivers side in front of the firewall. this did not cure the problem. Is there another switch I should change? I have tried to research the prob and found some cars also have a switch by the oil filter. Does my car have on here as well?
I have no issues with the way the car runs, oil is good. I do have a drain on battery that I can not figure out as well, it is brand new and will die in a day after a long ride. Is this possibly related?

If the battery is dead after the drive, then you are having charging problems. I doubt the gauge is killing the battery, as it takes so little power. I would suspect the gauge is bad, but it could be that the wire from it is touching ground somewhere. Are you sure the sender is the right one? There are at least three different senders for these cars. Have the alternator checked out to take care of the charging problems. Your local autozone or checker is usually glad to help out with advice/diagnostics.

the sender i replaced looks exactly like the one I replaced it with, so i am assuming it is the correct 1. I have been reading about another sensor or switch for the oil pressure guage above the oil filter. Does my car have another in addition to the bell looking 1 I have already changed

What grade of oil are you using?
When you went to purchase the new sender, did they ask if you had a gauge or an idiot light?
The problem might be with the gauge itself.
