Electrical system is dead......help....

I have a 1986 V6 Firebird.

Yesterday when I tried to start it, it started to turn over and then just stopped.

It seems that all electrical power is gone. No lights, nothing.

I just started charging the battery, but it seems to still have a charge.

Am I right in assuming I may have blown one of the fusable links?

I dont have a breaker box in this car like I do in my 4th gen, so what do I look for?

Help?

Start by making sure the battery leads are hooked up tight to the battery and are corrosion free.

You should have a fuse block.
Unless it's differnt then my Camaro, it under the dash on the driverside. On one side or the other of the steering colum.
How old are your battery cables?
Wouldn't hurt to start checking fuseable links.
Is your battery charged?
Do you have power to the starter?

No power to anything, as if I pulled the battery.

Re: Electrical system is dead......help....

check the fusible links at the starter if you have no power here (use a test light) then start pulling on the wires slightly...if you blew a fusible link then the wire will pull appart easly for all that is left is the insulation and the wire inside would be melted. If the fusible links are okay then start tracing the wire backwards and find out where the power is lost.
