Really need some help guys
I drive a '91 RS, 3.1 v6. I'm having some battery issues, and I'm completely at a loss. Alternator reads 15 volts constant, battery reads 14.5-15 volts constant, but my battery meter in the car only reads between 8 and 10 volts. My headlights are dim, my heat/ac blower motor is weak, and occasionally my radio will turn off because the battery meter gets so low. I'm guessing it's a bad ground or a short somewhere, but I don't even know where to begin.
All of my fuses are good, battery is less than a month old, alternator is maybe 2 years old, and I've had it tested on and off the car at least 5 times now.
Any ideas? Or am I just going to have to start tearing into all of my wiring to find the bad ground
?

CAMARO&TA GUY had a very similar problem last week. Turned out one of his fusible links at the starter popped. The low power in the car is the result of having to back feed through other circuits such as your volt meter wire.
Check the power leads coming off the starter going to the rest of the car. You may have a red plastic junction block to the right of the radiator under the hood.
There is usually a big pile of grounds on the firewall next to the AC/Heater box. Wouldn't hurt to clean them.

One of the fusible links was absolutely toast haha. Definitely helped the problem, but I've still got more drain than I should.
I appreciate the help man, I never would have thought of that.

Did you check all of them? For future reference, if he is talking about the same guy I think he is, check the resistance or continuity on fuseable links, his was burnt at the end and took him I think a couple days or week to find.
I would also recommend checking the fuses.
Other then that, you could start pulling fuses and checking to see what pulls on the battery.

Yea, I might start pulling fuses soon. There's less of a draw on it now, but still more than I'd like.

Well, I'm only getting about 9v to the fuse block, so I'm guessing I have a problem with the wiring going to the fuse block. Should be tons of fun.

I think it is worth unhooking the big pass through connector on the driver's firewall. With it isolated from the rest of the car, all the big red wires should be always hot and 12V or at least within one volt of the battery.
