oil pressure gauge
how do i tell if my gauge is shot or that my oil pressure is through the roof? fall down to zero when off and moves all the way up when started

Does it go all the way up with the engine not running? Make sure the wire is still connected to the oil pressure sending unit.

sounds like you have a bad oil oil press. sensor . a common enough problem on 3rd gens. . located above oil filter , not too bad to replace . be careful of old brittle plastic elect. connector on sensor . good luck .
