89 export km/h speedo convert to 1LE panel

hi guys,

i was looking at converting my export version formula's "metric" instrument cluster to one of these 140mph / 8krpm L98 (1LE?) ones. would i need any converters or change any other kind of electronic stuff to put that in and get correct readings?
i would really love the greater ranges of this cluster

thanks in advance!

Assuming that all clusters are similar ( CABLE vs. Electric ) It should be plug and play !!
