Trans am dies once ever three four weeks help!

I have an 86 trans am that has been dieing on me about every three to four weeks. When it dies i knowtist that the rpm gauge doesn't move. So i knew it was something in the ignition. I replaced the ignition module inside the dist. and the car started. I have a one year warrenty on this part so i just keep taking it in and getting a new one. But in any case this is very aggervating. When i bought the car the previous owner had replaced the dist. with one from accel. I also knowtist that after i replaced the ignition module it seems the timing is off. I haven't check all of my vacume lines yet so that could be it. But it seem weird it would start acting up at the same time. Oh and the coil was replaced with an accel one too. Would an accel ignition module help? I have been told by some older hot rodders that it might be over heating? Any input would help thanks!

If it’s failing from heat you can:

Try a different brand;

Run cooler.

‘Blueprinting’ your engine to run at 160° instead of 220° will increase the longevity of the other parts under the hood.
