3 guage cluster

On my car it has 2 bigger guages one on each side, mph/kph then other side has the gallons/liters. in the center of teh console there is a little three cluster with volts, oil pressure, and temp. The problem is the three center ones dont even have needles. I scanned the junk yard for same console style and found several but every one had same thing, missing needles. So myquestion is, how do I fix the gauges so they actaully work? Or am I stuck gettine autometers? Anyone out there with similar problem,

Re: 3 guage cluster

Unless you get lucky at the wrecking yard, your only other alternatives (other than aftermarket) are buy new gauges from GM (if they're still available) or do some research into whether or not your gauges can be repaired.

Both new gauges and repairing your existing gauges can be expensive.

I had to get my speedo repaired because of the common trip meter breakage (I broke it)

Since you're "close" to the SF Bay Area, I'd recommend these guys for repair:

$165 to repair my speedo. It wasn't a butcher job either. They replaced the broken plastic "cage" with a new one. For me, it was worth every cent.

I'm glad that you're satisfied. I once sent one to a GM repair facility. The cost to replace the "cage" was $80; however, I learned that the repair itself can be done MUCH more cheaply:

You could replace the cluster with one with gauges instead of idiot lights. There's a how-to, IIRC, in the tech articles.
