Hey guys I found some neat gauges, help?

Ok well I just got back from my local JY and while I was pulling the drivers side door mirror off this black 86 camaro (Belinetta I think, no badges)
I stopped to look at the gauges (I laugh at the giant guage for the gas on the 2.8 cars)
I seen some digital gauges, where the gas, temp, and volts gauge would be on my car (the three small ones)
would it be worth getting them?
whats the value of them?

next time I go up there wensday for the hood/trunk struts, id like to bring the camera and take a few pics if it would help

Thanks!

I asked this same question a long while back. I thought they were pretty interesting. I was told that they werent worth all that much, and despite the fact Ide never seen the before, they werent all that rare.

Hope that helps.

They're the berlinetta digital gauges. Some people love the stuff and it's worth a little, like usually $60.00 to $100 for a complete system, dash and both instrument pods. Now, if it had the swivel cassette deck and it worked you'ed have something.

You need to get hooked up with a Machinist. Design an instrument cluster to fit the gauges you need. Have him laser cut the holes and you can have you a nice setup. This guy in my area is having his friend make gauge plates like that. I havent got one yet but it fits a big spedo big tach fuel water and oil gauges...as well as come other crap he wanted. Then you can get what you want and have the bad look to them.

Eh, didn't want to take it too complicated. Just wanted to see if they were worth anything and if sold the money would go right towards the exhaust I need

Oh, and their the same size and shape as the analog gauges, so they would plop right in. No machining needed.

They misinterpreted what you said. Theyre talking about the Full digital gauge cluster found in some berlinettas. I know exactly what your talking about. Ide like to see them in working order, but have only found them in the junkyards.

Those are base model gauges. Actually they're indicators, they don't give you a "reading" of whats going on, they just come on when somethings going wrong. We used to call them "Idiot Lights."

Really? I never would have known. I was thinking maybe it a type of LED to show the value on it.
That does sound stupid though, I see how the Idiot gauge name would fit.

My mistake.
Thanks a lot
