im new on here but had my bird a couple months.

alright well once in a while when i hit the parking lights the lights don't pop up.

which i prefer. but most of the time i hit parking lights and the head lights pop up.

which way is it suppose to go and im thinking about putting a switch for the lights to pop up.

any help?

That sure sounds like a problem in the headlight control module. It controls the motors based on what position your headlight switch is in.
If you have a friend close by with the same year Firebird (must be 90+), you can swap the control module to see if the problem switches cars. That will give you a better idea what's wrong.

I agree, sounds like the switch is going bad. The headlights shouldnt pop up with only the parking lights on.

the only friend i have with a car like mine has a 92 bird.

just switched the distributor today. does it use the same control module as on the dizzy?
