Electric problem 92 camaro

I have a '92 Camaro RS, 3.1 L V6 with an electrical problem. I get no SES light when you turn the key (new ignition lock installed) and the fuel pump does not prime. Can anyone tell me what the problem is??

The pump has a separate power feed.

If your fuel pump doesn’t work you just have the worlds’ best paperweight.

Therefore fix that first.

You can find out if it’s the VATS or pump by applying 12 volts directly to the pump.

Too bad your not around Odessa or i'd come over to help you out with your car I'm kinda thinking it might be a problem with your ignition just going off of what you said, the ignition cyclinder should not hang up and should actuate without a problem at all however,it is probly gonna be the most expensive place to start, also check your grounds. I've replaced the bad ignition cylinder, but the problem persists.

Re: Electric problem 92 camaro

I'm continuing with repairing the wiring on the start enable relay, and i'll see where that takes me. I'm wiring it all back to factory specs (as most i can).

Re: Electric problem 92 camaro

Here are two pics

1. The start enable relay has been disconnected. The green and yellow wires have been spliced. Why would anyone do this, and should i connect them back up??

2. The VATS circuit it has also been spliced and modified but don't think resistors were added.

Re: Electric problem 92 camaro

Regarding my problem, i suspect a problem with the ECM, possibly. I've already checked the 20 AMP fuse at the battery connection, fusible links look ok (not visibly damaged). I'm gonna trace the wiring from the 20 Amp fuse to the battery and make sure the weatherpack connector is ok.
If i need to replace the ECM where is the best place to purchase a replacement ECM??
