Re: Detection!!!!

the laser guns the cops use on the side streets of most cities only tunr on when the cop points at a vehicle and pulls the trigger so buy the time your detector goes off your detector goes off your done on the highway not to sure it might be on all the time

Re: Detection!!!!

You need a laser jammer if the cops are using laser guns in your area. A good radar/laser detector like the V1 will detect laser, but most of the time it will only be after the cop has acquired your speed. If you want to do some research, go to radardetector.net. They have a boatload of info on radar detectors and laser jammers.

I have the V1 in my car and has saved me countless times from getting pulled over. The cops don't use laser much, so I don't have the need for a jammer yet. Also, don't ask your cop friends about detectors/jammers, since they will probably just say that they don't work.

CB radio

I went on a trip to GA and my buddy had one in his car and it saved us from more cops than the detector did. I plan on putting one in my car soon because alot of people still use them and they report cop locations way before a detector can.

Re: Detection!!!!

Do they still make in-dash type detectors? Or all of them the kind that you mount on top of the dash?

That may be a dumb question, I was curious

Re: Detection!!!!

yes i know it is an older thread.

don't waste your money on a "laser detector".
LIDAR will send a burst of IR light in the nanosecond range and pick the signal back up in less than 50 milliseconds.
Another words, by the time your laser detector goes off, the gun already has your speed, and your getting a ticket.

As for laser jammers, they do work, provided that they operate in the correct spectrum. The best way to do this to work for all guns, is to have 2 separate IR banks, with 2 different MHz ranges, throwing IR "pollution" so that the LIDAR gun cant pick out its own signal to give the operator the speed of the vehicle being tagged.

I am currently building a prototype jammer for LIDAR, which there are no laws against having in the state of florida, being that the LIDAR gun is still relatively new, and there haven't been any regulations set up yet.

If you do run a LIDAR jammer, do be prepared to be pulled over 50% of the time, because they couldn't get an accurate reading or couldn't get a reading at all. In this case, hope your jammer is well hidden and play stupid.

You're doing it wrong. If an officer hits you with laser, you only need to jam the signal as long as it takes you to slow down to a reasonable speed. Then you turn off the jammer immediately so the officer will record a speed. This way there is no suspicion of having a jamming device.

This may be the case, but it can be done either way. Besides, in the 3-6 MHz range, it can only operate for about 4 seconds before it will burn out you IR banks.

I just like seeing the puzzled look on the cops face
