bad headlight switch?

bad headlight switch?
i plugged a sealed beam in.
when i turn the parking lights on the high beam indicator is like "half lit".
when i turn the headlights on, it stays half lit. the sealed beam lit up.
then when i switched to high beams the high beam indicator was fully lit, and the sealed beam light shut off.
