TPI swap question. Please help.
I am swapping an 89 tpi 350 into an 87 GTA. I need to remove the harness for the fuel injection, but I have several wires from the drivers side firewall inter-twined with the tpi wiring. I thought the Engine harness was seperate from everything else. Guess not.I tried to peel the conduit back and find out if the wires can be un done, but it looks like I just have to cut the harness at the firewall. Then HOPEFULLY I can splice all the wires into the GTA. Any thoughts on a better way?

The bundle on the right is part of the fuel inj. system. The wires on the left come out of the fire wall.

This is where things get messy. I can't un tangle these without cutting.
HELP!

you should be able to unbolt and remove the engine wiring harness as a whole wihtout cutting. you will have to disconnect all of the connectors including anything on the trans

In the center of that black plug going into the fire wall is a small bolt. smoething like a 9/32's or 6mm,cant remember but anyway. Take that olt out and the plug will come out of the firewall. Then you have to carfully pry open some tabs and the two pieces of wiring harness will seperate!
Then you have to fish the wiring out through the passenger side fender. Its kind of a tight fit so take your time and becarful not to pull hard and break a wire. Inside the passenger floor board you will need to remove the kick panel and insulation. Then pry up a black clip that holds the connector to the cowl. There are two tabs you have to push in while you gently pull on the harness to pull it out of the cowl. The block you pullout of the cowl does not seperate. Hope that helps
