Checking engine light with out reader?

Car: 89 GTA
Engine: 5.7 350 TPI (L98)
Transmission: Stock GTA Trans
Checking engine light with out reader?
Is this possible? How do i set it up? I have all the codes just need to know what code my GTA is putting out. engine light doesn't come on at cold start up but comes on when its warmed up for about 5 minutes of idle.

you have a test port below the steering wheel, on the lower dash.
It caled the ALDL Terminal, (with the car off) you need to jumper terminal "B" to Terminal "A"
If there is a code stored it will flash the code in a sequence like 1 flash pause 2 flashes, which would be code 12
