Another weird one

My car likes to kill the battery when it sits for a couple of weeks. Unhook the battery wile it sits for a month and it starts perfect. Something is draining the battery when it is hooked up. Unhook the ground and test for amps with the key off and I get .01 amps. No way that little draw is killing the battery in 2 weeks. Only thing I have ever noticed the the head light motors run like hell for 5 or 10 seconds when I hook up the battery. Could they be doing this at odd times? This car sits all winter and doesn't even get driven much in the summer so it would be nice to be able to leave the battery hooked up and not have to screw with it when it does get driven.

This won't fix the problem, but it may provide some relief. I installed a battery tender (CarQuest, maybe $25).

Its funny, there's one in the garage and I have refused to use it. Just can't bring myself to admit I have been beat. Might have to use one till I get it figured out.
