1987 Formula 350 Wiring
I recently bought my project car, a 1987 Formula 350, No motor, no tranny, etc. Virtually saved this car from the junkyard. Considering how it is a formula 350, I can safely assume it was a 350 TPI/700R4 car.
I am currently building a 350 for it, and am sticking with another 700R4, going carbureted as well, therefore alot of wiring gets eliminated anyway.
Heres the problems:
Improper removal of wires, many cut, and many just missing altogether.
The Large loom of wires that goes from the inside of the car, through the passenger side, up the passenger fender, and into the engine bay, is gone, what is the relevance of this giant mass of wiring?
I think the computer is missing, if im going with the carburetor and dizy off of my 84 T/A, do I even need a computer?
Since its an 87, doesn't that mean that there is no VATS? Its missing its steering column, so I can't just check the Ign.
What does the + end of a battery connect to anyway? I know one part goes to the solenoid, but what does the rest go to?
Theres a bunch of wires that I need to label, and later on Ill try to get some pics so I can get a little help identifying what exactly they go to, etc.
I appreciate any and all help I can get, and appreciate the continued support.

your best bet is to go to a junk yard and get a harness, the wires are all different if your goin carb you will need to drop the tank and change the fuel sending unit its a pain i tried it the other way and gave up

I had a feeling I was going to have to drop the tank, damn..
Do you know of any place that sells carb'd sending units? Or can I just go to autozone and ask for a sender for my 84 t/a?
What wires are different? Can I use the under-hood wiring for a different year car, just for the headlights, as long as its the 2-wire type?

no i tried to get a new one myself couldn t find any your best bet is to get one from autometer with a new fuel gauge i have to drop my tank again its not easy i found out to late. it might be easyer to put a fuel injected tpi motor back in it it should just plug right back in check craigslist.org someones always parting out and fbody if you still wanna go carb you will have to change harnesses for the gauges to work ,going aftermarket for gauges would be alot easyer

Oh, cant buy new sending units? Im going carbed, its what I want. The task at hand now, though is to get the underhood wiring done. Can I just get a Headlight harness from any 2-wire motor car? Just the headlight parts, also, What are the relays on the firewall for?

Ok, trying to get answers here, ive taken some pics of what I am looking at here. If anyone has any wiring diagrams, or any pics of what I need, Please post up, I need help with this.
Does this harness contain ONLY AC related items? I am not keeping AC, and need to know If I can remove it.

Here is the inside of the bay where the headlight and motor wiring for the passenger side SHOULD be.

And here is the wirewall by the brake booster, clearly missing some parts.

Regards,
Bradley
