gas gauge help

well i decided to go with all a/m gauges and the only thing im going to have a issue with is the gas gauge. will a a/m auto meter gas gauge work with a stock 86 camaro fuel sending unit ? if not what are my options i would rather not go with a a/m fuel tank and i have allready converted the fuel sender for carb use. thanks all

Re: gas gauge help

Ok well it makes sense you would have to use the same one. but i think it should work it all works on electricity unless you going to mechanical gauge then you would have to change.

Re: gas gauge help

Not all gauges and senders are created equal.
You'd need a gauge that shows empty at 0 ohms and full at 90 ohms.

Hope this helps.

Re: gas gauge help

No, my car is stock, no aftermarket gauges.
I just did the homework for you and found out that Autometer does carry 0-90ohm fuel level gauges. As an example, product #2641.
So when you find your favorite style, make sure the gauge you get has the 0-90ohm range.

Hope this helps.
