General questions about wiring harness, and computer

Hello. First of all let me say this, my camaro is the first car i have done any extensive work on, so my knowledge of car electronics is pretty small. I have posted a couple questions before, and have searched for hours but not have found the answers I am looking for. If someone could help answer my ridiculous questions in a way that a newbie could understand, that would be wonderful! With the computer questions I hope im in the right spot...

Question 1: Where is my "computer" located exactly? And what does it control?

Question 2: Im doing an engine swap. I am swapping from my 1986 305, to a 92' 305 (I know how its not worth it blah blah. i have my reasons) The 92 engine really doesnt have any emission devices on it, and im not planning on putting any on it(again, i have my reasons). What am I going to have to do with my computer for it to work right with the new engine. or do i even have to worry about that?

Question 3: Im going to be replacing my engine wiring harness. I see that the harness goes into the firewall. How do I remove the old one, and how would I go about getting a new one?

I may have some more questions when I get a solid answer for those...
again I really appreciate it. Please bare with me, im only a kid trying to understand what i need to do to get my car going...

In order to be of more help we will need to know if your car is fuel injected or not. There are a lot of things that are different between those two motors. You will at the least need a different flywheel and pressure plate for your clutch.
The pre-86 blocks are different than the 87 and up ones.
Is the 91 motor TBI or TPI?
How much of the new motor do you have? Wiring? Fuel injection?

If your car is not currently fuel injected and your new motor is, it may just be easier to go carbed and be done with it. Let us know your current setup and anything you know about the new motor.

Actually I posted on a local 3rd gen club board. Somone from there gave me the answer I was looking for. I didn't realise that I didnt put that they were both carb'd engines.. oh well I got my answer.

Thanks for your attempt anyway!
