The easiest part to get to right now is the brake differential pressure switch on the brake master cylinder under the hood. Unplug it and if the light turns off, that's your problem. However, you'd have to determine whether the switch itself is bad or whether you have a brake system problem (air in the tubing).
Another switch that actuates this light is in the center console on the emergency brake. If you unplug it and the light turns off, that's your culprit.
If neither of these switches causes your problem, you might possibly have a chafed wire touching ground but it's too early to think about that.
Hope this helps.

Re: Parking brake dash light lit. stays lit? Y my friend.
with some testing finally, i found out, that is my master cylinder and combination valve. the seals are failing, rez is black coffee. I propose that i swap the master, the combination valve, and the 24 year old switch with new parts, and bleed the brake system. im going to also swapp for some new rotors, and some pads, bearings, new seals. ill take pictures and have a step by step procedure. if its an "approved way" of repairing the situation, maybe it can be a sticky...-mikey
