Slow power window motors

Everyone complains about these.

Has anyone ever tried a different motor from another car?

Re: Slow power window motors

I have pondered this issue at great length, and think that maybe when I redo my vert that I will build a relay center. Use the relays to power the window motors, as I personally think that the window switches might be to light for the load, and could be the source of our troubles. I'll resarch this issue further but I do like your idea of a differant motor though maybe an older design? should work, GM does not like to change everything, they just repackage it. I am sure the bolt patterns for all GM power window motors are the same but I have been known to eat crow before , so what are you proposing to use?

Re: Slow power window motors

I think like you the switches could be a problem. I had the drivers window intermittent and the switch broke completely. I replaced both switches and windows moved faster as well as operated normally.
This is the third GM car I had with power windows and they all move slow compared to the Fords I had and those move quicker but they use plastic parts which break quite often.
