Fuse blowing at WOT
Fuse blowing at WOT
I have a 1985 Berlinetta 305ci carb and when evr I go to WOT or about 3/4 throttle the "Gauge" 10 (red) Fuse blows. The insterment panal still stays on but the speedometer stays at zero. I cant find anybody that would have a solution for this.

Re: Fuse blowing at WOT
Does it happen even if the engine is not running? (with key on, of course)
If so, you could unplug the TPS and try again. Then I'd unplug the Mixture Control Solenoid, the Air Diverter Valve, the Air Select Valve and the EGR solenoid. If the fuse still blows, I'd unplug the ECM.
If fuse still blows, I'd start unplugging random things because then I wouldn't know anymore.

I see. Do you still have the Mixture Control Solenoid? I would unplug that one and test WOT.
I am really not 100% familiar with the CCC setup, I hope somebody chimes in with more advice.

I see, so you don't have the ECM either? Now we're on the same page.
In that case, I'd look at the carb and try to locate any kind of switch that could be triggered by the throttle position.
Otherwise, there isn't anything I can think of that would be throttle position dependent on carbed cars.

It sounds more like the throttle pedal is contacting something under the dash. Maybe rubbed through a wire, shorting it out. Did you do any work under the dash?

Double check that youre using the correct amp fuse.....I could have swore the gauges ran on 15amp fuses.
