My Car is a 1991 Camaro 350 tpi

OK at first my car would start some times and not others, i called a buddy he said "push up on the wheel and turn the key" i did that, it started. a few weeks later it just wouldn't start at all. The battery was new, but just to be safe i put another one in it, did the same thing, nothing. Ignition switch? i have no idea, but i want/ need my baby running. before all of this my turn signal indicator got all bent out of shap, i had to hold the switch either way, up or down, it would not stay on its own and when they did blink it was slow, not at the normal pace. Then the bright lights would only come on sometimes.
