1988 FIREBIRD FUEL SYSTEM WIRING

Hi, i have a post in the TBI section that has all the information about my car. At first i thought it was a fuel pump issue but i have figured out that it is an electrical problem. The fuel pump motor is not getting power to it (i have checked continuity). The relay clicks on and the ignition switch turns on the radio, ac, lights, etc. I have discovered that there is a switch between the relay and the fuel tank. where is this located? if you dont think this is the issue, what is?

There is no switch between the relay and the fuel pump, only one connector, the infamous C313.
You can follow this troubleshooting article and see which component of your fuel pump circuit is faulty:

Hope this helps.

thank you for the help lou. that plug is where i was going to go next. but im thinking i might just hardwire the fuel pump to a toggle switch and just bypass everything completely. but ill only do this if the C313 isnt the problem. I think that the problem may lie in the electrical system due to my brothers stereo when he drove the car 3 years ago. but dirt solidifying whilst the car sat for 3 years does make perfect sense. ill be under the car tomorrow afternoon eager for some progress!

I would recommend against a switch-powered pump. It is very unsafe and gets tiring after a while.
The ECM controls the fuel pump just right, as long as the wires and relay are ok. It's a very simple circuit, not much that can go wrong with it.

*bump* Hey there, was just curious how this task went for you if you ever did it. I'm having similar issues on my 88 Bird. Instead of a toggle switch though I'm going to run a straight cable to the c313 switch with an inline fuse. Thoughts?
