bulb question.. please help!

i have an 87 iroc and the third brake light is in the spoiler. does anyone know the number for the bulbs that it takes?? i have checked with o'reillys and they cannot find a number for it. we also compared the bulb with everything on the shelf and could not come up with anything. please help! i am wanting to get all of the lights working as they should. thanks!

The bulbs on my Firebird are 577 they look like a domelight bulb with a larger diameter glass .

Take one out and go to radio shack, they have them, 20watt halogens p/n 272-1177 for $1.99 + tx...Dealer wants about $15 each

If you have a Home Depot near by, check out the outdoor lighting aisle.

Look for the Malibu brand 12-volt bulbs. You'll want the 10-watt pronged bulbs.

I think you get two for $7, IIRC.

i tried one of those 891 bulbs to see if it would work and they are awesome! WAY brighter than the old bulbs. i am going to replace them all with the 891's... thanks for the advice!

When I can find the right LED's I'm going to switch over to them. Today I put in the Radio Shack bulbs mentioned in a previous post. So at least my grand daughter has the third brake light now.
