Yeah i know another Tach question.
Yeah i know another Tach question.
Alright so i searched and searched and searched...but I couldn't find the exact answer to what I want. The car is an 86 Z-28 with a carb'd 350 with coil on cap distributor. Now on the distributor there are 3 wire goin from the lower distributor to the coil. And Also there are 2 wires that come out of the the coil(on top of where these plug in it says Tach batt) whiteish looking(really dirty) and the other red or pink(also really dirty) and both of these run down behind the engine into the harness. Now to my understanding I need to take the green wire from the tach and tap into the the white one correct?
Also for the lighting I can't really read and thing on the fuse box and I don't have anything to tell whats is what. So if I where to tap into a like say the center consol light which wire would I tap into the grey or black? Im thinking the grey but I want to be sure.
And for the 12v where would I tap into for that?
Thanks for the help!

Correct, the white wire is your tach signal.
For a 12V switched source, you can use the pink wire you mentioned earlier.
I'm not sure about the lighting though

hey the parking light wire is a brown 12v+ wire found the light switch just test it before using. If you don't fell confortable pulling the switch the same wire should be found in the driver kick panel in the main harness. Like I said test the wire before using. Sorry if I come off wrong But you will be amazed on how many people do stupid things when it comes to wiring.
