blower motor

there is a red wire by the harness and the black wire for ground. is the red wire a 12v source or only with ignition?

not sure...u try hookin a volt meter up to it?

what exactly is the problem?

In the 1987 and earlier cars with a V-8 and the engine cooling fan, the black wire is ground, the red wire is for the blower motor High Speed setting and the purple wire is for the blower motor lower speed settings on the blower switch.

The Red wire goes to fusible link B which is 16 gauge Orange and HOT all the time. Depending on the additional load you may want to connect to this wire, you may melt the fusible link if you run the blower motor at high speed with the additional load turned on.
