I did a search for GM alarm and nothing so....

89 GTA with GM alarm. Its not working. I replaced the battery in the key fob and found the valet switch and nothing seems to arm it.
Any ideas.
Car is in So Cal so anyone down here with knowledge of these things might be able to determine if it is terminal or a quick fix.
