Re: Wires from the ECM means?

The ECM is an acronym for the engine control module. It is the brain of the engine. It is located above the footwell of the passenger side on 82' thru '92 f-bodies. The wires you refer to are the harness connectors plugged into the ECM. The harness connects the ECM to all of its' various sensors and control actuators. If you unplug any of these harnesses from the ECM BE SURE to have the ignition switch OFF. If not you might end up damaging it.

If i was to take out the harness and ecm and cut the fuse and relay out of my harness (its a aftermarket painless one) and cut the one wire that connects both of them to the ecm connector, where would that have to go? cause on this harness they have 4 wires, green/white striped, black/white striped, orange, tan/white striped going to the relay and then they have a two red wire fuse and they connected one of the reds from the fuse to the orange of the relay and then ran the other red fuse wire to the starter? its a weird setup
