1988 GTA digital dash wiring diagram
1988 GTA digital dash wiring diagram
Does anybody have wiring diagram for Firebird GTA 1988 digital dash?
I have some problems, km/h doesn't work (it's always 0 km/h on display), and display which shows trip and other things regarding mileage also doesn't work (there is nothing on display).
Thank you all in advance!

Check your fuses for sure. I have the same dash and have had that problem. If you speedometer is reading zero check the wire to the VSS (connection at the back end of the transmission (tail housing). Is the odometer screen blank or just not adding mileage? I will look and see if I have a schematic that includes the digital dash.
Good luck!

Thank you, I'll check that. Odometer is blank, but in one moment I see mileage on display, but just for moment
Please, take a look if you have a schematic for dash, it will help me a lot.

If the horn works its not a fuse.
After fixing my steering column this summer my horn decided to just start blowing about 800 miles after the column repair. In a pinch, I pulled the fuse to kill the horn, and my display read the same as you're describing. Just a thought.

Horn works, if you meen on sound (beeeep!) after system check. I didn't understand you, when you pulled the fuse, display start or stop work?

it should have blown the fuse, did you get the penny out? Or do you have a larger amp fuse installed?
if its the right size fuse it should blow. Check your wires underneath the lighter. If you or your friend were moving things around the wires could be shorting out. It happened to me when I reinstalled the console after the 6 speed swap. I was moving the new wires around and they pulled on the lighter wires till they touched and that was that.
If the above doesn't resolve it, check previous pages on this thread for the diagram.

i cant seem to locate a diagram anywhere.. it seems hard.. i may buy a manual. if i do im scanning the whole thing and putting it on here, why hasnt anyone done that yet? i mean dang! im poor! and i gotta do it,,jeeze... lol.
wires are fried...well.the rubber off them is! every time i put a fuse in it smokes then blows....im only putting a 10 in. lol
well heres my plan sofar
pull center console. putt the little section that holds the radio and heater and......then pray to god thats as far as the wire goes, simply replace it at....wherever it splits off from the one going to the fuse box and hope im good. lol.. but a diagram would let me know if that will work, lol

I have the compete 26 page digital cluster section of the 1988 Firebird service manual in .PDF, but the file is too large to post. PM your Email address to me and I'll send it to you.
