I am rewiring the entire car, and I have everything sorted except for the running/turn signal system. I am overlooking the diagrams and when I pop on my headlight switch, i get only tailights, license plate lamp and rear corner markers.. my front fender side markers and front running lights do not work at all. and my blinker system doesnt work at all either..
I am looking over these diagrams and see the BROWN(BRN) wire coming from the headlight switch must be 12+ to all the lighting on the exterior of the car. but the front turn/running lights are a 3 wire bulb, brown, black and lt/dk blue.
so if the two bulbs are properly grounded , and get 12v from the brown wire, shouldnt it light up? or does the lt and dk blue wires need to be wired in as well?
the lt and dk blue wires run both straight to the turn/hazard switch. and YEL and DK green control the rear turn signals.
can I get any insight? the turn/hazard switch is getting proper 12+volts through both the flasher and hazard relays.

I can tell you from memory the side markers are wired in series with the front running lights. The current actually reverses when you put on the turn signals depending on whether or not your parking lights are on. The front 3-wire bulb is the only one hooked directly to a ground. The wire coming off the side of the bulb socket.

You really should just wire it as the factory schematic says. Its a fairly complicated system with how it works. Rather than try to re-engineer it just rewire it as it was.

thats for a firebird, so ignore the headlight pop up stuff
thanks, I got it all figured out, then when I put my dashboard all back together, they all just come on without blinking, except the front fender signals, they are off on both sides. any indicator what that means?
with the running lights on, all my lights are on, but when I turn on my blinkers, the two front fender lights go off..
I probably disrupted a connection when I put my dash back in..

your running lights are your dim lights right?, because im having a similer problem, my turn signals don't work and neither does my low beams or dims, i can turn them on but i only get my dash lights but when i turn on my brights i have my headlights...so is this the same problem or atleast similer?
No, I found out my problem was my battery was so dead, it wasnt kicking the flasher on lol.
