84 camaro alternator problems

In my 84 camaro there is a 350 small block put in before i bought it. the alternator fried when my idiot friend hooked up the jumper cables back words and i need to know where i ground out my alternator.

The alternator is grounded through the case.

it just grounds to the engine through the mounting bolts
-anything else get fried because of the reverse hook-up?

alright so then the only thing i need to do is connect it to the positive battery terminal and connect the v belt? and the battery was junk ofcourse too

And the case connector, and you'll probably want to check your fusible links, too.
