alright, my question is can you use a shift light the auto meter ultra-lite series tach, it has the left side orange like shirt light on it, I wanted to know would it work on my automatic stock transmision guages that I am replacing, will their be a bunch or wiring, stock their is no light, but it will have a ratchet shifter! so just knowing would be nice!

Tach Rag

Yes, because it does not “work on” a transmission.

A tach with a shift light has a light which YOU program so you know when to shift.

It’s bright so you can concentrate on the road and have to not look at the tach.

When you see fog lights on in good weather beware. Low performance driver ahead.

How bout those nitwits too scared to drive without headlights in the daytime, and the nitwits that need headlights for a little rain

Re: Tach Rag

ok good because I have not yet had a chance to try out a ratchet shifter the tach light is still a nice option to have, I just was worried I would have to run a whole new sensor circut to have a properly working shift light

Shift lights work off of engine RPM, so they don't care what tranny is in a car.

But unless you shift an auto manually, it'll shift where it is "programmed" to shift at, not where the shift light says to.
