Speedo and odometer stopped working??? 1992 Z28??

Engine: 350 tpi, 305 tbi
Transmission: 700R4,T5
Axle/Gears: G92
Speedo and odometer stopped working??? 1992 Z28??
ok my 1992 z28 the speedo and odo stopped working. all other gauges work fine. 
the gauge doesn't move and is stuck at 15 mph. any idea what happened?

Was it hooked up to a diagnostic machine when it happend?
Mine was being scanned when all of the sudden my output on the connector stopped. The mechanic was stunned, but everything still ran. All the way home (8 miles or so) the speedo-odo didn't work. The next day everything was fine. Been fine ever since. Try it again tomorrow.

Code 24, if set while the car is in motion, means there is a problem with the Vehicle Speed Sensor or the wiring to it.
