weird issue here....

Hi all...I just recently got my 91 back and am trying to fix some of the odd problems..I had to the the heater core so while I was at it I figured I'd fix the tach while the dash was out...everythings back togoether but now the door buzzer or chime whatever you want to call it is staying on all the time and I have no instrument lights. Did I fubar someting or (please god let it be) something I missed somewhere on reassembly. Everything was working fine Except the tach when I took it apart. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure what you're asking - are you saying that the door chime stays on?

Yes. The door chime, or tone is more like it, stays on constantly. interior light turn off but tone stays on. If i remove the stop/haz fuse it quits.
Its a 91 Camaro rs if that matters any.

The alarm assembly is activating due to a faulty circuit.

One at a time disconnect pins B, D, E, G, at the assembly.

When the tone stops you have found the problem circuit.

How bout those nitwits too scared to drive without headlights in the daytime and the nitwits that need headlights for a little rain

I just replace my lock cylinder in my 88 Camaro, and after re-assembly and connecting the battery back, the chime no longer rings when the key is left in the ignition and the engine is off. When I start the engine, the buzzer comes on and stays on. Did I forget something?

Remember, the door must be open for the
Key In Ignition chime to activate.

If it still fails to chime with the door open, and key in cylinder, engine off, use a test light to see if you have power across terminals B & C of the Audio Alarm Assembly with those same conditions.

The door is open and it does not chime with the key in the ignition. Also, my 88 Camaro does not have the security feature you mentioned. I believe the key reminder isn't installed correctly. I will take the steering wheel off this weekend and check it out.
