bad eletrical connection

bad eletrical connection

well the other day i got my 1989 comaro rs 305 tbi running well but when i go and touch the wires to the coil pack it turns the car right off. and my check engine light is on and says code 42 so i think my problem lies in a bad connection at the coil pack any ideas of how to get a better connection.. i just baught brand new wires coil pack and dizzy its a mounted coil not hei

Bad Wire No Fire

It sounds like one end of the primary has an intermittent connection.

With the engine off, use an ohmmeter with alligator clips to check the continuity of each low voltage wire.

Connect the alligator clips just past where the wires are crimped in the connectors.

The alligator clips will hold the ohmmeter leads in place to allow you to wiggle the wires until you find the faulty one.
