Wont start, need some help

Every so often my car has this issue. Turn the key and it wont start, everything inside of the car works, dash lights come on, but starter wont engage. Its like im not pushing the clutch in, well i unplugged the clutch safety switch and jumped it over. I had thought that was the problem because it hasn't done that in awhile. Well it has done it twice in the past week, after a few hours it will start up fine and will be find for awhile. What else do i need to look for other than the clutch switch? Is there a second switch somewhere on the clutch? ignition switch? vats? Need to figure this out so i can get it running tomorrow, car is sitting in a parking lot about 5 minutes from my house, cut it off and came out 5 min later and it wont do anything

when this happens have you noticed if you move the steering wheel up or down... ? I would lean more toward an ignition switch, don't get it confused with the ignition lock cylinder...

Haven't even paid any attention to what im doing with the column when it happens. I will pick up a ignition switch, thats only $12.50, I know its not the lock cylinder, where exactly is the ignition switch? what all has to be removed to get to it?

EDIT: actually everytime i get out of the car i tilt the wheel all the way up, and bring it all the way back down when i back in

well i will be finding it tomorrow, bad part is i wont be able to know for sure if that was the problem. I guarantee the car will crank in the morning and be fine for awhile. So after i change the switch i will just have to drive it for a few weeks and see if it does it again
